Fellow teachers always tell me that it's very important to be a form teacher because only then will s/he feel a unique sense of bonding to a group of students

well, i'm now the CT of P30.

i have to confess that i raised my eyebrows a little when i looked at the class list and saw so many Malay and Indian students. not that i'm a racist but i'm not sure whether i would relate to them and vice versa (which, incidentally my dear students, is a fallacy btw because friendships transcend petty racial lines. haha)

but my apprehensions were laid to rest after dragonboating on Monday

we might not have won but we were definitely the loudest. erm, i definitely contributed to the noise level, what with initiating cheers and whatnot. which is a drastic turn of events because i remember that i used to detest those loud and noisy classes as a JC student

oops.

and it's true what my comrades say. i suddenly find myself very responsible for their happiness and future. some of P30-ers indicated that they want to be teachers when they grow up (hi, miss pretty, cute and a little bit shy pauline!) and besides going through the run-of-the-mill compre and compos, i find myself obliged to enlighten them to the realities of my profession so that they can make informed decisions. others asked me if they could pon school to go for polytechnic open houses and before long, i was rambling about the differences between the poly and JC routes. haha

it's quite a pain in the ass to have to be concerned with punctuality and MC issues. it has only been a week and they are already familiar with my catchphrase ("don't put me on the chopping block!"). argh! i need to think of new lines! and the amount of admin work. ~faints~

luckily, P30 seems fun-loving and studious. what a what-more-can-one-ask-for combination. i'm eager to create more memories together :P
