when i was doing my Human Resource Management at university, my group mates and i had a consultation with our tutor.

me: you mean you gals didn't understand what the tutor wanted from us? how come u all didn't ask questions to clarify?

w: huh? dun noe leh. hungry lar. just wanna go for lunch (okay, she isnt always this bimbotic)
the other 2 gals just shook their heads sheepishly

from then on, i had no choice but to assume leadership of the group. since i was the only one who bothered to clarify doubts and understand my tutor's expectations. the charting of direction for the project fell largely on my puny shoulders. the brainstorming and conceptualising of ideas, not so because i had another group mate who wasn't around for the consultation but was rather arts-inclined so she could understand better what was going on.

i wasn't scared shitless but was very conscious of the fact that it's kinda make it or break it due to my competence.

my life for 2nd half of 2006 distilled into 8 WRs. now, imagine the stress i endured for my HRM project multiplied by 8 times. not taking into account the slight fact that PW is a national examination and those pesky grades would actually go on record for my kiddos' certificates and potentially affect their future

next year, i will have to be in charge of the fates of 11-13 PW groups. auditors have peak and off-peak periods, okay. PW is peak period all the time.

hai yah, i guess i will do my best

*********

all along, my motivation was to prevent them from getting a Band 3. of course, i didn't settle for Band 2 but i thought if i could somehow secure them a Band 2, i would feel sufficiently fulfilled.

i just realised this past week that i would feel darn lousy if they didn't get a Band 1

results're out next april bah. i think not many NIE fresh graduates would receive a "results slip" so early in their career?
