now, i am no longer so smug about some of the decisions i made. feel stupid actually.

pertinent learning points:

1. why put myself on the line to be disliked when people don't appreciate it?
2. what gives me the right to humiliate my students when I don't know them and haven't bothered to find out how they think? i just assumed that people needed to be accountable for their mistakes and neglected to ensure if they were indeed guilty, because i felt that i didn't have time. i shouldn't have been so proactive.
3. teenagers don't quite know how to detach the subject from the teacher yet.
4. i won't back down when i am convinced that i am doing the right thing. but ah, i need to ensure that i am doing the right thing first!

i'm too aggressive this term. i need to tone down and change the way i manage my life.

well, if nothing else, i am glad that this saga happened during my first year of teaching. better make mistakes now than later. i'm also thankful to my students, who have been incredibly mature, despite all the crap that i dished.
